So why BDO Stoy Hayward? There are many reasons, but
ultimately we believe that 90 per cent of work is about the people you
work with. And our people are at the heart of our business.
We already have a strong culture and aim to continue to recruit and retain
the best people.
People who are challenging, with no vested interest in preserving the status
quo. Who prize initiative and reject arrogance. Professionals with passion,
keen to develop lasting relationships.
What can we offer you in return? We were voted AccountancyAge Employer
of the Year in 2004 because we are serious about our responsibilities
but equally committed to creating an attractive, stimulating working environment.
We can claim to have written the book on flexible working (the Lancaster
University Guide to Flexible Working Practices for the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of England and Wales was penned by Kathryn Britten, one of
our partners).
Our culture stresses the importance of staff maintaining and enjoying
a social life along with their work responsibilities; we treat our employees
as human beings.
Our benefits system is tailored and relevant to each individuals
need and you have the option of getting cash instead of benefits if you
wish.
We value openness and honesty. Our partners are approachable and willing
to glean feedback on any issue.
We have a set of core values that represent the principles we are committed
to upholding now and in the future.
Last but not least, we are keen to foster your personal development with
training and development and opportunities for international secondments.
Why BDO Stoy Hayward? Because we listen
BDO Stoy Haywards employee opinion survey, Pulse, enables us to
get feedback on areas such as diversity, development, benefits and values,
and to benchmark these against international partnership norms and UK
top-performing companies.
Feedback from these surveys is not ignored.
When it became clear employees wanted a set of statements put in place
that supported our culture, our values were introduced. In 2003, feedback
led to a revision of our benefits package, including increases to holiday
entitlement, car allowances and maternity leave.
In our Pulse results for 2004, 88 per cent of employees said they were
personally committed to achieving the goals of the firm, 94 per cent said
they fully supported its values and 88 per cent said they were proud to
be associated with BDO Stoy Hayward.
A similar number said they would recommend the firm as a good place to
work.
